Morgan Graduated!!!

Well, our sweet Morgan graduated yesterday.  She is official!  We had graduation in the morning, and as we were leaving the house, it looked like this.  It was just black clouds all across the valley.  So by the time we got to the high school, it had started.  But heavy as it was, we were prepared with umbrellas and fortunately the storm was short lived and it was sunny and beautiful by the time commencement was finished!  We were blessed to have nana and papa here from Texas to enjoy the festivities.  And yes, we have been celebrating for a week now.

On Sunday we went up to the Duffin's to celebrate with Kim in Lehi.  She didn't want to walk at graduation, so they went to Hawaii.  Then we were able to go over to the Crooks last night for their graduation party and hang out with a lot of Morgan's friends there.  She opted out of the Senior all nighter in favor of her own.  Kylee, Cheyenne and Morgan all went to see the Avengers 2 at the 10:00 showing in Provo and then kept the movie marathon going until the wee hours of the morning.  You only have graduation from high school once, so we let her party.

We love you my girl.  We are so proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the luck in the world in your new challenges and goals in life.

Poor toe!

Morgan has been battling an ingrown for a while now, but she hates it when anyone touches her feet.  So finally it got bad enough that she consented to go to the doctor.  Well, now she has this massive toe, hee, hee, hee.  We all got a good look at it when she got home.  She was such a trooper.  She watched the whole thing.  I have to admit, I couldn't.  But it should feel much better now!  Way to go!  It should be healed up enough to wear sandals in a few weeks.  At least she has the option now.  There was none of that before!  Good job sweetie!

Good things are happenin'

Well, I had to add a picture of my beautiful birthday cake.  Sydney stayed home on my birthday to help me make it!  We made an italian buttercream flavored with fiori de cecilia, a light lemon cake, and filled it with raspberry jam.  It actually turned out really good, and it doesn't look too bad either, which is a novelty for me.  Super rich though and we still have a lot left over.

On another note, I took the kids to go and see the temple open house in Payson on Wednesday.  It is gorgeous inside and out.  The art glass is amazing and the woodwork is just jaw dropping.  Here is a link to be able to see inside the temple **PAYSON TEMPLE PIX ** .  I would love to have my girls married here, but as Morgan says, "It's Payson mom, I don't want to get married in Payson!"  So I am lobbying for the tabernacle temple instead.  It is really coming along too.  Mason was pretty impressed as well as Sydney.  Morgan took more of a ho-hum approach.  But she did comment that this temple really puts the Provo temple to shame.  I have heard that as soon as the tabernacle temple is open, Provo will be closed to be refurbished.  Now is time to get my genealogy done.  Work how I hate it, I'd much rather play :o).  Jeff will be home soon and then we can finish the solar system!  Yeah.  Keep ya posted when he gets back!

Sydney should have gone to school...

Well, as you know Sydney has been recovering from Strep Throat since Sunday.  Today for school they were participating in the Hershey Track meet, so we didn't want her overdoing it, so we kept her home today.  Not a good idea!  She has been tormenting the dog and finding all sorts of things to do with diapers.  (We got a package of diapers to try the stuffing in my planter boxes to help retain water).  So we have some diapers hanging around and Sydney is fascinated.  She has never had to use or change a diaper, so she is amazed.  So here are a few of the things she is doing with diapers....

Happy Mother's Day???

My mother's day dessert, strawberry pie!
Well, this was not my best Mother's Day ever, by far.  Jeff left for Taiwan yesterday at o'dark thirty in the morning.  Sydney has been sick since Friday with a raging fever.  We finally ended up taking her to the Dr. on Sunday to find out that she has strep throat!  So we ended up having mashed potatoes for dinner on mother's day, the only thing she felt like eating.  She is doing much better today and will go back to school tomorrow.  But we did get to talk to Wes and that was good.  He is totally immersed in the work and I worry about his transition back to reality in October!  But it is all good and we are extremely blessed.  I love being a mom and am grateful that we have been blessed to be able to stay at home and be the mom I was meant to be.  Thanks to all the mother figures in my life, I have been blessed with many and grateful for all the examples that have been shown to me.  Have a wonderful week and give your mom a hug, she deserves it!
