Southern Utah Thunderbirds football
Morgan is going to be a Thunderbird!!!  She chose Southern Utah University for her post high school education.  They offered her a nice scholarship and they have a really good nursing program.  It is not nearly as competitive to get into as UVU, so she is off to Cedar City.  She also has a room-mate all lined up that she works with and is planning on going into nursing also.  We will be going down there for spring break to check out housing and figure out how to get around the town.  So congratulations my girl, we are very proud of you!

We have been BUSY!

before...
Well, it has been a little crazy around here lately.  We got screwed on taxes this year, so I didn't get my nest egg I usually get :o(  So I have to go UBER cheap with my projects this year.  No tile backsplash till next year.  Bummer.  But that doesn't mean we are not busy.  I found a link on Pinterest about making your own drawer dividers.  I was all over it.  So here are the results.  Really happy with the outcome.  Now we are working on finishing the solar project, and getting Morgan ready for college and readying the rest of us for Trek.  Then we can figure out what to do with anything that might be left over!  Have a great week.

After !!!!

Best Week-end Ever!

Hey family! how goes it?! i hope really well!
dad you always make me laugh with your emails. Congrats on winning the dance award! although i dont think you would stand a chance against spanish people! they are serious about dancing! It was so funny this week! During english classes this week (all we teach are older spanish moms, like 40's-50's) we were learning about how to give someone your information. so one of the questions was "how old are you?" so i asked the first person and she said "i am.....21 years old! :D" (when in reality she is like 45) and so we all laugh and then the second lady says boldly "i am 19 years old!!!" and then the last one (she reminds me of you mom! ;)) she says "i dont care if people know how old i am because i am 55 and i can still....DANCE!!! :D" and with that she stands up and starts dancing in the class room! i was like WHOA there Bessy! i almost lost control of the class! but it was so funny!

mojo you should get a letter from me soon. another elder in my district wants to write you so inside he put his address and name and all that.....remember that you have agency. haha!

wow so J. endowment was so amazing! it was definately the most spiritual moment on my mission! all of the poinciana members were there and it was also the temple night of the semoran branch so i got to see all of them too! and it was my favorite temple video and just so many other things happened that night it was great!
then the next day we had a baptism! Y. got baptized and it was really good. even though she had to be baptized 3 times.

but man on monday we had a 70 come down, elder zwick. and he just hammered the importance of being safe online and avoiding pornography while internet proscelyting. it was like the biggest throwdown/rebuke that i have ever seen! but we are super pumped to be exactly obedient from it now!
well i hope all of you have a week as fantastic as this last weekend was for me!

love you all!

Valentines Fun

Well, with Jeff gone to Taiwan, we have been busy holding down the fort and getting ready for Valentines Day.  That meant something totally different for each child.  Morgan had the Sweethearts Dance tonight.  So, crazy us thought we could make her a dress.  Well we could, but that poses its own difficulties.  So after about a gazillion hours working on this dress and fine tuning it to fit her, we finished and she is off....  And by the way, she found these super cute red heels to go with her outfit.  Unfortunately, they make her taller than her date (ooops).  So we had her take them off for pictures.  Then, surprise, her date picked her up in a motorhome.  Crazy kids!

Then Mason asked a certain girl to be his valentine a few weeks ago.  So on Monday he gave me a list of the things he wanted to get her.  So I asked him how he was going to pay for it.  He kind of walked away and left it at that.  Well, Tuesday comes along, and he comes home from school and says, "Mom, what can I do to earn some money?"  So we gave him a list of chores and he got right on it.  He got his valentine some candy and wrote her a cute poem.  I haven't met this one yet.  I was hoping to meet her when I picked the kids up from the choir practice, but she wasn't there that night, bummer.  He felt bad because she got him more candy than he got her.  Young love, what can you do.

Then there was Sydney.  No valentines for her, other that the obligatory ones for her classmates.  We looked on Pinterest to get some good ideas, and we settled on the army man one, "Glad you are in my troop valentine", or "You're worth the fight valentine"...  but we couldn't find any army men.  So we found some crazy straws.  She picks them up and says "You SUCK valentine!" and started laughing.  Since we couldn't find anything else, we settled for "Life would suck without you valentine!"  It was pretty funny.  And then she made her valentine box to look like a box troll.  they loved that movie and it fit nicely with the box theme.

I am waiting for my Valentine tomorrow.  I get to pick him up in the morning.  Hope you all have a great Valentines week-end and enjoy the pics!

Hullooo

this week was a week of ups and downs for us! downs we had M. miss her baptismal date. during the interview she expressed that she wasnt ready and that she didnt know enough. so we have to push that back. :( and also our golden investigator A. had to move to orlando! so we have to figure out who is going to teach him.
but on the good side Y is super duper awesome! we literally taught her all of the commandments in 3 lessons! and we also managed to fit a temple tour in there! she is like a sponge that is soaking up the gosple! we asked her why she is getting baptized and she said, "because before when i heard people talk about church they were never happy about it. but i saw that in Z
(boyfriend) and then when i met with you guys the first time i felt so much joy that i couldnt even talk to zean to express my feelings afterward! and i want more of that feeling in my life!" she is so great and i am so privileged to be able to teach someone as prepared as she is! i am so grateful for a loving heavenly father who openly blesses us when we obey! and i am so grateful for all of you who pray for me and help me out! you are all the best!

so you wanted to see some pics of the weapons of mass destruction huh?

First Week of Training

well my new companion is Elder Connor Dickson. he is from gilbert arizona! he loves volleyball, choir, orchestra. he is the youngest in his family. his dad is a bishop and is 61 years old. Elder Dickson is actually only 4 days older than me. he attended a semester at byu idaho before coming on his mission! he is really cool and loves missionary work! we go out and work and it really helps me because he has so much desire to improve and be better! he actually has really good spanish for coming out of the mtc and so that is really helpful! all in all he is a good guy! it is really hard though carrying the whole area on my shoulders. i had to do a whole weekly planning basically on my own! (planning every hour of the next week by myself!) i am keeping up with it and i have definately felt the lords blessings helping me! please pray for me that i will be able to be happy and have the energy to keep going!

Thanks for the package mom! i love the socks! elder smith opened it and he saw the bag of white powder and says, "oooohhhh! i see what your parents send you!!! (cocain)" haha it was pretty funny!

i dont have a lot more time but a super cool miracle that happened this week was that we were going to knock a street that we had chosen from the map the night before and when we got there it didnt exist! so we are biking around the neighborhood (cuz our car was in the shop) and i felt like we should knock the street that we were on. so we knock one side and then run into the other english elders! we talked for a bit and they delayed us, then we proceeded to knock the other side! we had no luck until the last door. the guy drove up to the door at the exact moment that we got there and he gets out and asks us to come in! he had a lot of things going on in his life and he was at the hospital when he said a prayer just asking for help. then when he got home he saw us! and he knew it was an answer to his prayers and we knew it was an answer to our prayers! it was so cool! we have to give him to the english elders but we know he will be great!

thats all for today folks and hope you have a good one!
