Morgan Cut her Hair!!!

Well, Morgan had let her hair grow out quite long.  She was hoping to be able to let it grow until graduation.  But alas, with her work requirements and always having it up, it had to go!
So we made an appointment with the cute Kenzie at the end of the street.  She does a great job and makes sure that you love it!

In the end, the hair is gone and she absolutely loves it.  Everyone says she looks like her mom now.  You will just have to let us know what you think!

Sunday...

Well, we had the Ogden temple dedication on Sunday.  We were planning on Linda coming back down after her conference, so we thought how fun would it be to have a Polichika breakfast after the morning dedication session.  So we invited Chris and Kristen and their family, along with Linda (aka Nana) down for the day.  We made it to the church early so we were able to get soft seats (yeah).  The speakers were amazing and now I am so excited for our temple to be finished.

When we got home, just got right in to making the Polichinka.  He had 2 pans a blazing and cooked up 2 1/2 batches of batter in about an hour.  Good thing he made the extra 1/2 batch!  Those Joneses can really put them away.  Thanks Jeff, nobody makes them like you!

Sadie Hawkins

Boy, what a whirlwind week-end.  First, we had JoAnne in for a visit.  She had the urge to do some canning.  So of course I obliged!  We got into the raspberries finally.  We deseeded all the frozen berries, and then made seedless raspberry jam and one batch of raspberry syrup.  Can we just say WOW and leave it at that.  So to any of you that choose to come visit, you will be in for a nice surprise!

Before pictures....

Then on Saturday, it was Morgan's first dance of the season, Sadie Hawkins.  The theme was "Greased Lightning", but of course her group said, "Nah!!!"  So they played human checkers, and paint twister.  That got a little out of hand as you can plainly see.  Then they had dinner down the table and had to eat with the strangest utensils they could come up with.  They actually had to nerve to ask if they could walk on my carpet to go wash their hands.  I gracefully declined ;o).  The party started at 4, and they left for the dance at 8.  She didn't get home until 11:45.  She played hard and had a great time.  Her date Travis, always the gentleman, was a great sport and played hard right along with her.  Way to go Morgan, for hosting an awesome party!

Clouds

So we have this ongoing thing with Wes with Clouds.  As you have probably noticed Wes sends us a lot of pictures of clouds.  We were just laughing about it and so we sent him a picture of clouds with Jeff's head cut off.  Wes wrote us back complaining about our photography skills and how lame our clouds are!  Ha, ha, ha, ha.... So we had the kids pose with the clouds too, looking overly thrilled.  So we thought we would share our little fun you all enjoy!!!

A Good letter from Elder Jones

this week was a week of miracles though! i have never felt more like a missionary than i have this week! we had a lesson with a potential where we had role played the inspired questions that we were going to ask. when we got there during the whole lesson we felt like she was holding something back and that it just wasnt hitting home enough. but then we read moroni 10:3-5 and she broke down crying as she read it! she then told us that she had met with missionaries long ago that had come to her in a dificult time and they had given her hope! she had in fact been baptized! and now in another dark time in her life the missionaries somehow found her again and she has had that faith re-ignited in her life that this gospel can help!

also we had a referral from the windy ridge sisters for a spanish woman that has got to be the most prepared person i have ever seen! she said that she was evangelist and that she grew up that way but that there was always something missing! she heard about our church from a friend and she said that she wants more peace and joy in her life and that she believes that marriage should be something more! that families are more important than society is portraying them to be! that she is willing to do anything to receive this knowledge and testimony! i mean this is the stuff that you hear all of the time in home coming talks! and it is happening right here in orlando florida!

we are also having really good success finding peoples concerns through asking inspired questions! there was a woman who we contacted who seemed like she was going through some hard times...she kept talking about how much evil was in the world and so i asked her if she had been affected by that evil, and she broke down crying and told us a story about how her brother had just been killed in guatemala! we were able to share the plan of salvation with her to inspire hope that she could see him again!

K. came to church yesterday and she loved it! hopefully we can get her on a temple tour so she can gain more excitement about her baptism!

in other things this week we had fun setting things on fire with a mirror, my pedal broke off completely, and yeah! it was awesome!

Updates from Elder Jones

Wes has not been really good at communicating with us lately.  But here is a good one, and a lesson for all of us!

then for october we have R.! she is amazing! she told us that she saw us one day on our bikes as she was leaving her church. that was the last time she could go to that church because the person who gave her a ride couldnt do it anymore. and THEN later that day we knocked on her door! haha YEAH! i love hearing stuff like that! she has a date for oct 4th.
i had a really powerful learning experience that i had this week that answers your last question. we were talking with a recent convert that really is struggling in life. i had a very poor  view of who she was as a person. and she always asked us to do just the most insignificant things. she called us this week and asked us to go fix her sons toy...and i told her that we were missionaries and alluded to the fact fixing toys is not what we do. well this was very offensive to this sister and a very negative situation ensued. that night i reflected upon everything that i had learned on the mission. i read pages upon pages of PMG, and prayed a lot! and then the words in PMG that said, "do everything you can to serve the people that you are around and strive to keep your temple covenants!" struck me very hard. i realized that i had become so caught up with baptizing every month and getting good numbers that i had forgotten to love and serve the people! Especially the members! so just like in enos, i had to wrestle with God over my sins and beg him to let this member feel forgivness for something that was 100% my fault! from this experience i have learned that there is no other better way to help others than to love them and serve them! Charity is the overrulling attribute of them all that if we develope then the rest will fall into place as well! so now i have committed to love every single person i meet and do the best i can to serve them! that is what will help our investigators progress is to feel of that love!
