A Few Updates

Well, as you can tell, our correspondances with our missionary have been few and far between.  He is doing well and loving the work and I guess that is all that matters.  But just because he is being lazy not writing to us, doesn't mean we have been sulking around...

My mom came back to Utah with me on the 10th to work on some projects.  Boy did they turn out cute.  We took all of my dad's button down shirts and turned them into a quilt for my mom.  She chose a rag quilt, and I will admit I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but she was inspired.  Rustic and cozy.  Fits her bill completely!

We were also able to add this patch from one of his sweatshirts, that just made it precious.  It is so fun to look at the fabrics and say, I remember that one, or my mom will say, "That one was one of my favorites!"  Or, "Your dad loved that shirt, I couldn't stand it."  So it is a great memorial quilt for her to cuddle up with when the weather turns chilly.  And please note the puppy dog print fabric on the back.  A shout out to his love of dogs!

I also worked on an afghan while I was up at my mom's house.  I promised myself that I would never do another afghan unless I was in the hospital waiting upon a sick person.  So when I heard my dad was not doing well, I ordered my yarn, and had it delivered to New Plymouth.  Well, it came 3 days too late.  So while I was up there, we worked on it in my down time.  It will eventually go in Wesley's room (the blue room), but not until my mom and her dogs and gone ;o)

I am heading back with my mom today, so we can make sure that all of her finances are all in order.  It has been a tremendous blessing to be able to have the time and means with which to help family.  The Lord has truly blessed us during this time and I would be remiss if I didn't mention it.  Have a wonderful week-end.
