Monday, January 20, 2014

so this week was crazy! it was the end of a transfer so we got a whole new district! and the other new person replacing elder delgado is elder slade! he is so awesome! haha as a welcome prank, we thought that we would put his luggage up in the attic! but when we came home he had his luggage but i didn't have my mattress!!!! so they had crammed my mattress up in the ATTIC?! man i was so suprised and mad! of course it would be me that would get worse end of it! all my companion did was laugh! oh well haha got to give them props for that one though! it was creative! haha so this week was really cold too! on sunday we went out and you would not believe what we saw......Nope not snow! (haha had you going there! ;)) but the next best thing! FROST! wow.....sniff sniff....its a miracle.....anyways! we did our first CHURCH PUSH this week were we go out on saturday night and contact all of our investigators to try and get them to church! and it worked Great!....until sunday came and none of them showed up!....BUT! we did get a super less active family to come back! and so it all kinda evened out! haha we also got our 4th baptism date this week! i am so excited! the work is really taking off and we are really being blessed! one of those blessings was a new way of planning got us 7 member present lessons in 1 week! that is a true miracle! Thanks for all the support and love that you guys give me! until next week! :)Monday, January 13, 2014
Coolness!!!

i just want to start off by saying thanks for all the emails and support! you guys are awesome! :) so this week i went on exchanges with an elder named elder sherwin! and guess what?! he is a super avid rock climber!!!! :) he has been to like all the places i have! and guess what dad?! he wanted to do Squawstruck too!!! haha so we talked about that for forever! also this week was record breaking lows for this area! the high was like 48 degrees! i mean its florida man! but it was our car day so that was good! haha :) i also street contacted this guy who didn't have time for us cuz he was walking to the bus stop! so we walked with him to try and teach him! it was good until he started j-walking across these super busy streets! this guy was like, "cumon guys!" and he just took off! so we ended up following him for at least half of a mile before i got his info! so crazy! also another thing that happened this week is that we come home and after nightly planning elder delgado comes out with a samuri sword that a member had given him....then in a series of events we started playing a real life version of FRUIT NINJA!!!! hahaha that game is so much more fun in real life! then the highlight of my week! on friday we had the best weekly planning of my mission! and we got a ton of stuff done! we also had a bad lesson with an investigator and it turned them off a little bit, so me and elder sanford did some role plays to try to figure out what her needs were! and what happened can only be called revelation! we knew right then and there what we had to teach her! so we got an appointment and taught her how to recognize the promptings of the holy ghost and then they came to all 3 hours of church the next day and then we had them over for dinner at a members house where we taught the importance of relying on the lords atonement and its healing power! then she accepted to be baptized on feb 8th! yay!!! :) luv yall and have a fantastic week!Sunday, January 12, 2014
Our Crazy kids...
We thought things would settle down once Wes left for his mission. Well, that didn't really happen, I guess all of our kids have the crazy gene. There was a clearance sale at our local hardware store and Jeff was anxious to go. I talked him into getting these moving dolly's to play with in the play room. After everyone gave me a crazy look, I guess they caught the vision. During "quiet" time today, Mason and Sydney designed an obstacle course to run the dolly's through and here are a few of the areas of interest.

They were secretly running out to the garage to get scraps of wood and other debris to delineate their courses. Some ended up a little more dangerous than others, but once you heard the cackling, well, that is all that matters. Have a great week!

More from Elder Jones
Okay, this is the craziest thing ever. We always get a puzzle for Christmas and put it together over the Christmas break. Well, Wes sends this photo yesterday and crazy thing, it is the same puzzle that we put together here. Dang hard puzzle if I do say so myself. but really what are the odds of that happening. Morgan thought I had sent him the same puzzle. Nope.

We also received a note from his trainer that tells us how well he is doing and how well he is adjusting to missionary life. As you can see, he hasn't lost any of his spunk! Have a wonderful week.
